Qualifications:

Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience OR AA Degree

  • Valid drivers license, Current CDL, Knowledge of a wide variety of heavy and medium duty equipment
  • such as: Front Loader, Excavator, Backhoe, Street Sweeper, Grader and skidsteer. Knowledge of safe
  • working practices and hazard analysis.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
Duties:

Enrollee will provide operation, mentorship, training, and expertise on the safe operation and maintenance of Forest Service medium-sized and heavy equipment. Enrollee will also provide technical support and training for identifying road issues and conditions.

  • Provide operation, mentoring and training to Forest Service personnel on operation and maintenance of existing Forest Service heavy equipment.    50%
  • Provide technical expertise and training to assist the District engineering staff in identifying and developing plans related to current road issues on the district.    50%

  • Travel Requirements: This position will require travel to field sites riding in a government vehicle.
  • Health and Safety Considerations: Duties may require being outdoors exposed to a variety of conditions as heat, cold, rain, snow, etc. Work is performed in all types of large and complicated equipment in all types of weather. Work is on hills, slopes, grades, rolling surfaces and in forests.
  • Required Safety Gear: Gloves, hard hat, boots, safety goggles/glasses, and safety vest.
  • Safety Gear Use: Operating and supervising equipment.
  • Physical requirements: Considerable physical effort is required to stand, reach, bend, tum, and move hands, arms, and legs to handle different sets of controls when operating.
