For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States. NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP). Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee. Qualifications:Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in museum work and database management OR HS/GED Degree - Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
- ICMS, MCMS, or similar database
Duties:The enrollee will assist Voyageurs National Park in cataloging backlog of 93 linear feet of archival materials and accession 20+ years of natural history specimens in preparation for cataloging and to update older records. The work includes accessioning collections, organizing materials, cataloging and entering into MCMS, storing appropriately, and developing finding aids for archival records. - Work with VOYA cultural resources lead and museum tech to conduct database review to understand the nature of the ICMS/MCMS catalog records and whether they meet NPS Museum Handbook standards. 20%
- Assist museum tech in applying standardized formatting and abbreviations to new and existing data and editing content for grammar, ensuring data meets NPS Museum Handbook standards. Enter new data from museum and archives cataloging worksheets into MCMS. Make sure all information is in appropriate fields. 40%
- Assist with assembling information on ownership for VOYA natural history specimens and enter data into MCMS from cataloging worksheets. 40%
