Qualifications:Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in Engineering OR HS/GED Degree with minimum additional experience of 5 year(s) in Engineering - Forestry Management or Civil Engineering Technician experience and knowledge of BLM O&C Lands and Timber Management Program.
- Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
- AutoCAD
Duties:Enrollee will do a complete and comprehensive evaluation of BLM road assessments identified for timber haul routes. Inspection of road renovation, construction, and maintenance activities associated with forest management projects. Enrollee will provide daily completed road logs to the Lead Field Office Engineer. - Project inspector for facility and road projects which includes traveling to the construction sites throughout Medford District, inspecting for contract conformance 75%
- Developing small facility and road projects (>$25K) to include developing and creating scopes of works, technical drawings/sketches, specifications and estimates. 25%
Other:- Health and Safety Considerations: OSHA 30 Safety
- Required Safety Gear: All required PPE for entering a construction site
- Safety Gear Use: Field work
- Physical requirements: Position will require lifting up to 50 lbs. Additionally, the position will need to traverse construction sites and other outdoor sites on the district that may require climbing ladders, hiking to the site over uneven ground, climbing over and crawling under obstacles.
