For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Duration

This position is funded for up to 1040 total hours.

Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree with minimum additional experience of 15 year(s)

  • Previous NPS or federal government experience is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint
Duties:

Provide general project management for multiple national priority projects including but not limited to 250th anniversary projects such as Freedom 250 events, America 250 initiatives, and other NPS/DOI priorities in support of the Semiquincentennial. Provides coordination of projects that are national in scope and involve participation from multiple NPS units and coordination across parks, regions, WASO, DOI, programs, and external stakeholders.

  • Project/program management. Plans, coordinates meetings, builds effective relationships and works as a member of a project team, providing advice, preparation, and support to enable effective decision making. Project/program management includes information and data gathering, budget management, coordination with parks, programs, regions, WASO, and other internal and external stakeholders, and effective communication and evaluation.   50%
  • Partnerships. Builds effective partnerships with state, federal, non-profit, and local partners in support of priority NPS/DOI initiatives. Skills required include communication and problem solving, listening, negotiating, facilitating, motivating, persuading, problem identification and resolution, and conflict resolution.   25%
  • Coordination. Prepare briefing documents (briefing papers, presentations), deliver briefings, work with office of communications on internal and partner communications.   25%
