? This position supports the Wild Horse and Burro Program of the Bureau of Land Management and may be performed remotely. ? The BLM Experienced Services Program is a unique partnership created to help solve the workforce issues facing government agencies. The program connects experienced workers (age 55+) to the BLM to provide scientific, technical, and administrative support. ? BLM ESP positions are meant to provide temporary, project-based support. This position is currently funded for an estimate of 20 weeks. ? A background security investigation may be required prior to the start date. Only those positions with 30+ hours per week are eligible for health insurance benefits; all positions will accrue sick leave. ? The experienced workers participating in the Program are referred to as ?Enrollees? and are not employees of the BLM or NOWCC. NOWCC is the ESP non-governmental organization responsible for administrative aspects of the program, and the Enrollees work under BLM direction to assist the Agency staff in carrying out their mission. BLM ESP Enrollees benefit from the opportunity to keep technical skills current; to access new training opportunities; to engage in gainful project-based positions; and to undertake meaningful tasks using their experience and talent to contribute to the environment, the national economy, and their own financial security.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in WHB Program OR BA/BS Degree

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word
Duties:

This position will support the BLM's Wild Horse and Burro Program by updating the WHB program's regulations.

  • Establishing change controls for development of updated regulations   20%
  • Revising existing program regulations based on previous work completed   20%
  • Coordinating with national and state program staff to receive input into updated documents and developing milestones and timeline for each document;   20%
  • Coordinating with BLM Regulatory Affairs Staff to ensure documents conform to templates and working with Division Chief to ensure documents follow established approval process   20%
  • Serving as primary point of contact for regulatory document updates.   20%

  • Overnight travel: 1 week per year
  • Air travel anticipated: 1 week per year
  • Rental cars: 1 week per year
  • Physical requirements: Primarily sedentary
