The Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Administrative / Office support for individuals age 55 and over to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through a grant administered program through National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise and experience will truly be valued. You'll be working side-by-side with EPA staff that are doing important work every day. Hours: 32-40 per week, Monday - Friday Days, no nights or weekends Pay rate: $18.01/hr. Benefits: Paid Health Insurance Premium, Paid Accrued Vacation, Paid Accrued Sick Time, Eleven Paid Federal Holidays, One Individual Holiday, and optional Vision and Dental Insurance available. This position requires a background security check including questionnaire, fingerprinting and identification verification prior to start. Please note that due to EPA Policy, this opportunity only applies to United States Citizens.


Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in professional setting with databases, compiling information and dealing with a wide variety of staff and management. OR BA/BS Degree in Any related education

  • Strong oral and writing skills, proofreading, editing, technical writing, computer proficiency, experience in information management. Able to maintain confidentiality. Experience in a legal office is helpful but not required.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, Excel, Access, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, Copying Machine, Multiple Phone Lines
  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Sharepoint, Teams)

Provide critical operations support to managers and staff who enforce the nation's environmental laws in a fast-paced legal office. A successful applicant must be able to perform independently and demonstrate initiative to learn about and understand enforcement work and the systems that support this work. Duties will vary on a day-to-day basis but will include using technology to support and enhance the EPA's enforcement work and assistance with activities such as document review, editing and planning (e.g., large meetings), travel, and making recommendations regarding workflow and office operations. Applicants are required to learn and use internal government systems necessary for day-to-day work. Applicants must be able to manage multiple assignments, often with competing priorities. Seeking someone who is passionate about preserving the nations environmental resources.

  • Review, interpret and make recommendations related to EPA's enforcement systems and workflow. Manage confidential and proprietary business information in accordance with agency policy.   40%
  • Provide oversight of critical legal documents and office processes, including legal records management.   40%
  • Assisting with the inquiries/complaints/FOIA requests from the public regarding contaminated property and clean up, and new projects that reflect the EPA Administrator's policy priorities regarding climate change and environmental justice.    20%

  • In house training on standard operating procedures and numerous software applications and databases.
