The Agricultural Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Agricultural support for individuals age 55 and over to support the Department of Agriculture?s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) through a grant administered program awarded to National Older Worker Career Center (NOWCC). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise and experience will truly be valued. The NRCS provides an opportunity to work side-by-side with NRCS staff that are doing important work every day. Benefits: Paid Health Insurance Premium for positions budgeted at 60+ hours per pay period, Accrued Vacation and Sick Leave, Paid Federal Holidays, and optional Vision and Dental Insurance available for positions budgeted at 35+ hours per pay period. NOTE: Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period of time. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NOWCC is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NOWCC and the Enrollee is an "at-will" relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate his or her enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NOWCC and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee. NOTE: An ?ACES Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NOWCC. An ?ACES Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program, which is established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the USDA-NRCS and administered by NOWCC.


Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in ProTracts and contracting and payment processes. Specific knowledge in the following areas is required: Knowledge of farm bill programs and contracting policy Knowledge of document drafting for the Federal Register Knowledge of policy development Knowledge of farm bill program eligibility requirements Knowledge of special payment processes OR BA/BS Degree in Agriculture, natural resources, agronomy, or related field of study.

Assist the Financial Assistance Program Division (FAPD) Director with the transition and full implementation of the 2018 Farm Bill. Provide analytical support to the Director and collaborate with National Branch Chiefs, Program Specialists, State offices, and FSA Program Specialists to help develop transitional provisions to implement conservation programs in Fiscal Year 2021 and fully develop regulations and policy to implement conservation programs in Fiscal Year 2020. The position is in the Financial Assistance Programs Division (FAPD) of the Programs Deputy Area and work can be performed remotely. PLEASE NOTE: 1. The range of hours is flexible between 20-40 per week. 2. Remote work is an option. 3. Announcement will remain posted until filled, at which time it will be removed from the website.

  • Collaborate with full-time FAPD programs staff on programs (active and legacy) previously administered as a full-time employee.   40%
  • Assemble submitted Web Ex meeting materials and moderate recurring meetings for Programs Deputy Area through remote participation as required.   40%
  • Provide analysis of existing policy to streamline for better customer service while maximizing the conservation potential of the programs.   10%
  • Develop strategies for guiding and coordinating with the various Farm Bill teams.   10%
