The Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Administrative / Office support for individuals age 55 and over to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through a grant administered program through National Older Worker Career Center (NOWCC). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise and experience will truly be valued. You'll be working side-by-side with EPA staff that are doing important work every day. Pay rate: $18.01/hr. Benefits: Paid Health Insurance Premium, Paid Vacation, Paid Sick Time, Paid Federal Holidays Plus One Individual Holiday, and optional Vision and Dental Insurance available. This position requires a background security check including questionnaire, fingerprinting and identification verification prior to start. Due to COVID-19, this position may be eligible for telecommuting until instructions are given on when to safely return to the EPA facility. Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology or other science-related experience. OR BA/BS Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology or other science-related degree; or Marketing or Information Technology.

Provides critical support to Pollution Prevention, Pesticide Program and the Lead-based Paint Program in the form of outreach, research, data review and reporting.

  • Support lead poisoning outreach, education and integration initiatives by provides support to the EPA Region 8 Lead-Based Paint (LBP) Program by developing partnerships and providing outreach and education related materials on lead poisoning prevention rules. Develops creative ideas and strategies for outreach and education in the LBP and Pesticide programs. Provides expert level performance to LBP in compiling and analyzing data for special projects, conducting research and providing advice in areas or projects assigned. Demonstrates a high degree of initiative and judgement in LBP and Pesticide assignments. Assists Pesticide Program with the Certification and Training program for EPA R8 direct implementation in Indian country.   40%
  • Support Pollution Prevention outreach, education and program prioritization in by reviewing, analyzing and evaluating grantee reporting and providing a recommendation on data quality and applicability to the national program goals. Works with program coordinator and grantees to clarify reporting and helps explain program goals and reporting requirements. Assists program coordinator in coordination with the national headquarters program. Incumbent works independently and shows initiative in taking on daily activities to promote and grow the pollution prevention program. Brings creativity to the development of outreach and education ideas and implements them with minimal supervision.   40%
  • Provides support to the CSES Branch by assisting with the review of publications and making recommendations in order to comply with RA's office requirements. Supports programs in planning for various meetings with State and Tribal partners, National Program Managers and other colleges as needed.   20%
