The Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Administrative / Office support for individuals age 55 and over to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through a grant administered program through National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise and experience will truly be valued. You'll be working side-by-side with EPA staff that are doing important work every day. Hours: 40 per week, Monday - Friday Days, no nights or weekends Pay rate: $18.01/hr. Benefits: Paid Health Insurance Premium, Paid Accrued Vacation, Paid Accrued Sick Time, Eleven Paid Federal Holidays, One Individual Holiday, and optional Vision and Dental Insurance available. This position requires a background security check including questionnaire, fingerprinting and identification verification prior to start. Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Communications, Marketing, Information Technology, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Public Health or other science-related experience OR BA/BS Degree in Communications, Marketing, Information Technology, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Public Health or other science-related studies.

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, Excel, Access, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS OneDrive, MS Publisher
  • Experience required with MS Office Suite Applications( Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, SharePoint, Teams, OneNote and OneDrive)
Duties:

Provide critical support to Pollution Prevention, Pesticides and Lead-based Paint (LBP) Programs in the form of outreach and education, research, data review and reporting.

  • Provides support to the EPA Region 8 LBP Program's lead poisoning prevention outreach, education and integration initiatives by developing partnerships with stakeholders and creating outreach and education materials related to lead poisoning prevention rules and best practices. Develop creative ideas and strategies for outreach and education campaigns. Provide expert level performance in compiling and analyzing data for special projects, conducting research and recommending approaches/processes in areas or projects assigned. Demonstrate a high degree of initiative and judgement in assignments. Assist the Pesticides Program with implementation of the Certification and Training program in Indian country.   40%
  • Support Pollution Prevention outreach, education and program prioritization by reviewing, analyzing and evaluating grantee reporting and providing recommendations on data quality and applicability to the national program goals. Work with program coordinator and grantees to clarify reporting and help explain program goals and reporting requirements. Assist in coordination with the national headquarters program. Work independently and show initiative in taking on daily activities to promote and grow the Pollution Prevention Program. Bring creativity to the development of outreach and education ideas and implement them with minimal supervision.   40%
  • Provide support to the Chemical Safety and Environmental Stewardship Branch (CSES) by assisting with the review of publications and making recommendations in order to comply with Regional Administrator's office requirements. Support programs in planning for various meetings with State and Tribal partners, National Program Managers and other colleagues as needed.   20%
